Landscaping

Landscaping in Cornwall that looks finished and stays that way with less work.

Most yards in Cornwall and SD&G fail for the same two reasons: water sitting where it shouldn't, and beds planted without an edge or a plan. We grade first, fix the drainage, then plant. That is why the finished job still looks right three summers later instead of turning into a maintenance problem.

Old turf stripped, topsoil brought to depth, graded away from the foundation, then rolled sod or seed with a watering plan you can actually follow.

Grading & drainage

Regrading low spots, swales, downspout extensions and French drains so spring melt leaves your yard instead of pooling in it.

Supplied and placed by the yard. Access routes protected, driveway swept before we leave.

Tree & shrub planting

Properly sized holes, amended backfill and staking. Placed where they won't fight your foundation or your septic in ten years.

Hardscaping

Interlock and paver patios built on a base that survives Cornwall winters.

Interlock in Eastern Ontario does not fail at the surface, it fails underneath. Frost gets into a shallow or poorly compacted base, the base moves, and the pavers follow. We excavate to depth, compact granular in lifts, and only then start laying stone. The part you can't see is the part you're actually paying for.

Full excavation, geotextile, compacted granular A in lifts, bedding sand, laid pattern, cut edges, edge restraint and polymeric sand.

Paver walkways & flagstone

Natural flagstone or manufactured paver walks, sized for two people to walk side by side, set on a base that doesn't heave.

Retaining & armour stone walls

Engineered base, drainage stone and weeping behind the wall, block or armour stone set with equipment rather than guesswork.

Interlock driveways

Heavier base spec for vehicle loads, proper apron transition at the road and a surface that clears well under a plow blade.

Steps, firepits & seat walls

Natural stone or precast steps to code rise, plus firepits, seat walls and pillar caps that finish the space.

Repairs & re-levelling

Settled patios, sunken walkways and failing walls lifted, re-based and re-laid using your existing stone where it's still good.

Snow Removal

Your lot is clear before your staff and customers arrive.

Winter work is a liability service, not a landscaping service. Dispatch runs off the storm and off a 5 cm trigger depth, not off your phone call, and every commercial attendance is logged with timestamps so you have a written record if a slip-and-fall claim ever lands on your desk.

Residential driveways

Full driveway width plus the ridge the town plow leaves behind. Seasonal or per-visit billing.

Salting & sanding

Scheduled, on request or on conditions. Salt supply is contracted before the season so a shortage never becomes your ice problem.

Sidewalk & entrance clearing

Walks, entrances, ramps and accessible parking cleared by hand or sidewalk machine.

Snow hauling & stacking

On-site relocation, or trucked off site when a tight lot runs out of storage.

Written service logs

Date, arrival, departure, work performed and salt applied, emailed after every visit.

Site Prep

Excavation and base work done right, so what goes on top lasts.

We own the excavators, skid steers and compaction equipment, so site prep is not a rental we're waiting on. It's the part of the job we do more than anything else, and the reason we can stand behind the patio, wall, pad or lawn that goes on top of it.
