It is best practice to water your new grass early in the morning. The reason for this is to take advantage of the natural daily growing cycle of the grass. Another reason to water early is because the grass is still wet from morning dew and watering at this time will reduce chance of fungal and bacterial disease all while you minimize your water usage saving you money and reducing the amount of soil nutrients lost to leaching.
